Novel Study Wiki posts and Reflections accepted no later than Monday, May 14th

I am currently in the process of marking your reflections along with your discussion leader contribution on the wiki. As I am in the hospital with my daughter Kayla every night, I want to get this done as soon as possible.

Just a reminder to make sure you have posted your discussion questions, jot notes responses to your questions, and a recording of your discussion on the novel study wiki. I will use this as both part of your inquiry and communication mark. You will receive a score here out of 16 based on the following:

  • Quality of the questions you posed
  • Includes quality jot note responses to your questions
  • Podcast recording posted and evidence is present of you leading the discussion

Also because I was away last week and some of the reflections were handed in to MIss Nguyen, to help with my marking can you send me a word document with all your 5 reflections in the one document. Please include the following:

All five reflections saved in one document, the first two do not need focus questions to guide the reflection and can be 250 words. The last three all must have a focus question and be at least 300 words.

  • File saved as number and name: i.e. 26DavidS.5 Reflections
  • Date of reflection and chapters engaged
  • First two general reflections with quotes from the book and connections to self and world
  • For the last three reflections an inquiry question used to focus your reflection, 300 words with quotes from the book, connections to your own experiences and events in the world

The latest I will except these is Monday, May 14th. If you hand in only 4 reflections the mark will still be out of 40 and you will lose 8 marks.

Once you have done this, you can work with a partner to begin an in-class language arts inquiry unit posted on the blog that we will be working on while we are also studying Japan.

If you have any questions please contact me.
